I have been writing music for almost 15 years now. I think I’ve gotten pretty good at it.

They say writing about music is like dancing about architecture. I’m not sure what they mean by that. Frankly, I think dancing about architecture could be pretty entertaining to watch. Part of what got me interested in music in the first place was the power it had when tied to a narrative – a story scene accompanied by a piece of music changes ties them together in the mind of the audience, makes it impossible to experience just one alone ever again without hearing echoes of the other. It achieves something that cannot be achieved in any other way.

Isn’t that amazing?
