I recently started teaching myself to animate the characters in my games. I’ve long been an admirer of the art of giving a character weight, life, and personality through the way they move, and though I am relatively new to this practice I am proud of the work I have achieved thus far.

It should be noted that the animation here is a prototype, made with simple color-coded parts in order to allow me to make more refined hand-drawn animations later on down the line. I couldĀ  easily produce finished frames using this method, but I haven’t pursue that yet since it didn’t match the aesthetic I want for the game. This particular character, Eve, runs with a limp and cannot use her left arm, adding character to her actions even in silhouette.
