State of the Machine: April 2013

A lot’s been happening with the blog. A few days ago, I was featured on WordPress.com’s Freshly Pressed feed, and I’ve gotten a staggering influx of traffic. Well, staggering by my standards anyway, My follower count has quadrupled since then, after 8 months of scraping followers together one by one.

I’m overwhelmed, and anxious, and proud and pleased and excited– but, most of all, I’m grateful, grateful that there are people out there who are interested in what I have to say.

Thank you, and I will try to continue creating essays with the same, or with a greater, level of quality than you have come to expect from your time here thus far.

This is also a good opportunity to mention a slight schedule change. Many of you probably haven’t even looked at the schedule and wouldn’t be bothered if I didn’t say anything and just went ahead with the new schedule, but I think there’s a power in setting these things down in text and committing to them anyway. So, the new schedule is as follows:

Monday, 10am: Analytical essay, ~1000 words

Wednesday, 10am: Experiential Essay ~500 words

Friday, 10am: Weekly Eve DevBlog Digest

I feel like I’ve been casting message bottles to the sea and someone finally found one and invited me to a party because they liked my handwriting. It feels pretty great. They’ve got a sushi platter, and little wrap sandwiches, and the punch is full of rum or something, I don’t know what, but it fucks me right in the brain in a most delightful manner.
